With the very welcome news of Pebble's return, many like myself are probably dusting off their watches, eager for new software and hardware.
If you are like me and would like to reinstall the Pebble app, read on.
Install Sideloadly, this will likely require convincing Apple to install on your device as this flagged up as potential malware (which VirusTotal and co confirmed was clean).
Login to Sideloadly with your Apple ID details. Plug in your iOS device and ensure you can see it in the iDevice Dropdown menu.
After you download the Pebble IPA, open it within Sideloadly and try to get it installed onto your iPhone. You will get an error message that will tell you what your iPhone model is. In my case, with my iPhone 15 Pro, it was iPhone15,2.
Hold onto that error message.
Download the 64bit Pebble IPA - This file is hosted by Rebble, they are more trustworthy than I am.
Rename the .ipa file to .zip, then open the .zip file. Inside, you'll see a folder called payload. Open that folder and you'll see a file called "PebbleTime". Right click on that file and click "Show package contents".
You're then looking for a file called info.plist, open it within your preferred text editor. I used Sublime Text 4 but anything should be fine.
Scroll down to where you see "
As an example, I added "
Save the file, compress your payload folder again and then name it "com.getpebble.pebbletime.ipa" and then you will be able to sideload it to your device.
When you try to open the App, iOS will give you a mildly helpful error message. Go to "VPN and Device Management" in your settings and then you should see "Developer App" show up, trust it.
Then go to "Privacy and Security", set Developer Mode to on, restart your phone and then the Pebble app should open.
